Bi-weekly updates for August.

Troops section in progress!

Eagle Ordinary

It's not a skirt, it's a great coat! ...Or a pretty good coat, at the very least.

Wrath and Glory!

Hey guys! It's been a heck of a month, hasn't it? EO may have been quiet, but I was keeping busy helping out the Ulisses crew with their upcoming RPG, Wrath and Glory, through the form of a quick How to Play guide, check it out!

Quick aside: When I was a bitty college student, I'd heard of 40k through my friends, (and having been introduced through Orks and early Noise Marines, knew I'd like it) but had never the time or money to find a foothold in what seemed like an impenetrable wall of lore. It wasn't until about 7 years ago when a friend visited and walked me through character creation in the Dark Heresy 1st Ed manual that I finally got a grasp on it, and it was through the eyes of my little voidborn psyker that I got introduced to the universe and came to adore it through my first campaign of Dark Heresy.

Wrath and Glory is headed by Ross Watson, the same Lead Developer as DH, Rogue Trader, and Deathwatch, and he even had his hand in Black Crusade. As such, I can't help but hold it as some spiritual successor to the 40k RPG franchise. So you can imagine how thrilled, humbled, and utterly terrified I was to get to lend my hand in some small way to the project. During the 5 weeks I was working on this little teaser for them, I also managed to catch both the cold, and the flu. Sometimes you just can't catch a break, for all other times, there's decongestants and IRON WILL.

In any case, I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed drawing it. We've got one more page of this chapter coming next week (It's almost done, even!) and then I'll be posting the intro comic up here during the 'break', and doing something else special. Perhaps opening up some Q&A, maybe doing Q&A for a specific character.

As for the 'break', the pages are less regimented these days due to work so there may be only a week of break, or several depending on life/work. I'm hoping that may change soon, but it may get a bit worse before it gets better. That said, I still love working on this so just hold tight. Things will even out.

Finally, I want to give a couple thank yous, to Mika, who surprised me with this adorable Talon one of the weeks I was sick as a dog. Thank you for brightening my spirits when I was struggling. <3

And to my buddy Gabbi, who sent along this amazing post card right around the same time! I'm glad to say I got mucus on neither of them, and both are currently hanging on my wall. You guys are amazing <3

And that's it for the mega-text-update. More on Adepticon next week when the last page of the chapter goes up. See you then!

Those pictures are going to serve some purpose, I can feel it in my bones. Wonderful work, I can't wait for the next installment.

@Reset: Not to any specific plot centric point, they're just some photos of his brothers and sisters he keeps for luck. :)

@peachpunk: Its little things like this that make this comic my favorite. Good work as ever!

March 5th, 2018, 1:13 pm

@Reset: Man I got a lousy eye, thanks for pointing that out.

(cries) I wish I could draw you some adorable fanart @peachpunk but I have no art skills

Finally he comes face to face with his cowardice in a loaded situation, I hope he learns from this and finds his balls in future scenarios.

I'm the most cowardly of creatures, but I respect people who aren't.

March 6th, 2018, 10:18 pm

@Guest: He gladly goes on the front line with the rest of the guardsmen and he has more than once confronted Keegan already. And there's no telling if killing him there would have fixed anything. Keegan still has a lot of support on his side and there's no telling how they would react to his death.

I mean by now it's clear that Talon is terrified of the idea that he will one day have to murder someone in cold blood and it's pretty normal. He may be a coward but acting rashly and doing stupid thing because you're not afraid of anything is not much better.

@Metal C0Mmander: Agreed, Keegan would need to be taken down tactically. He'd need to be "won over" so to say for it be a smoother victory and it would prove valuable in terms of experience, man power, information, and maybe even respect

This is a warzone, not a playhouse - grow some balls.

March 6th, 2018, 9:22 am

Oh boy, only 3 more months till next edition. Can't wait!

March 6th, 2018, 2:18 pm

@Osrek: Hey, I wish I could post more too, but I don't ask you guys for money so I've gotta do other work to pay the bills. Patience please!

March 7th, 2018, 5:07 pm

@peachpunk: No problem, it is well worth it.

March 8th, 2018, 3:53 pm

@peachpunk: It all good, the suspense of of waiting just adds to the enjoyment anyway ;D

March 6th, 2018, 6:23 pm

Sorry to hear you were sick! :( That's rough, I hope you're doing better now! I'm doing pretty not-so-great today myself and wound up stuck in bed all day cuz of pain, so seeing this after dragging myself up was a serious mood-boost! :)

And !!!! Are those pictures of Talon's family stuck in his hat? That's so sweet!

March 7th, 2018, 6:03 pm

Frak indeed, Talon. You screwed this up bad; this is gonna bite you in the arse later.

March 8th, 2018, 12:56 pm

man, the part of me that wishes he would have puleld the trigger just knows he'd be giving Keegan what he wants, but no self respecting comissar should let any of that shit go without dragging him into a public square and summarily blowing his head off

March 9th, 2018, 4:44 pm

To be honest the Major has a point. If he can't make himself pull the trigger, then he has no business making the threat.

March 10th, 2018, 11:52 pm

@JustMe: Keegan has a point though. He's the commander of a penal legion. If Talon pulled the trigger then and there Holt and Talon may very well have a revolt on their hands. Either Talon shoots Keegan and they have a revolt, or don't shoot and look like a coward. It's a lose/lose situation for Talon.

I got to meet Ross at Ghengis Con this year. Very cool guy, gushed about your comic as I caught back up with it. So damned excited for Wrath and Glory.
