On hiatus while Kaiser works on Vhane Glorious
Troops section in progress!
KAISER: Hey guys! I hope you've all had a great new year! Ringing it in with a new strip after a long, work-filled hiatus. My first vacation in a while comes paired with the update I've drummed up in my free time between visiting Halifax and DC to visit my buddies.
RICHARD: I played 40k and Necromunda for the past three days. My 2018 resolution is to do that 365 days next year.
KAISER: Also Richard is here and we're both several margaritas and glasses of scotch in. I beat him at necromunda btw, totally wiped the floor with him. Back to the train of thought; 2017 has been a weird, screwed up, intense, merciful and unrelentingly cruel year. I've been busier than I've ever been in my life in a good way as all the filler and hobbies I've carefully cultivated have been slowly replaced by responsibilities, which have been as fun and thrilling as they have been consuming. I've gotten to do some work for the community team as a freelancer -- which is honestly a childhood dream -- so that's pretty cool. It's been a unique connection to a hobby I adore, and I feel very lucky for having had the chance.
It's also bitter sweet, because it leaves less time for this comic, which I still love and daydream about working on daily. I've got a massive buffer played out in the margins of my work notes, napkins, the sides of paper cups and what have you. I just got back from spending my Christmas with one of our fans-turned-best-friends and his family, and sat in the corner writing this update, there's two people on the couch beside me all the way from Ohio who would have never met us if it weren't for this comic. I would have never met my girlfriend and the most amazing girl I've ever met without the connections I made through the comic. (Thanks Baz.) It's safe to say it's had a massive positive impact in the lives of both Richard and I purely in terms of the people we've been lucky enough to meet and share our hobbies, hopes, and commiserations with.
RICHARD: I'm especially proud of the awesome roleplaying group that has built up on the forums. We have an oustandin group f people there and its been a pleasure to play with them all. We're going to try for even more RP opportunity in 2018 and I'm so excited to do that with the awesome group we hvae.
KAISER: What he said! Now I need to go catch up to his drinks. Goodnight everyone, and make the most of 2018!
When I get home things will be just as insane as they've been, but it won't stop us from sneaking our passions in between the margins as we always have. Stay tuned!
